Arunima Ghosh loves collecting paintings in real life. Little wonder then that actor was happy to play Pooja, a bubbly character working at an art gallery, in Alok Roys Chaal. On a rain-soaked Friday afternoon, CT caught up with the actor shooting for the film at an art gallery in south Kolkata. As per the storyline, it is here that her character meets Shahebs on-screen character for the first time.
Says Arunima, I love paintings. And when I came here for the shoot, I was taken in by the artworks. I literally had to be dragged to the shoot by my make-up artist. I hope and pray that some day I am rich enough to afford artworks of the great masters. Ask her who tops the artists list and Arunima confesses, Bikash Bhattacharya is my all-time favourite. His creations are very realistic. It is my dream to own a Bikash painting to put up on one of the walls of my home.
Speaking about her role in the film Arunima adds, Pooja is in love with Riju but for some reason, she is about to get married to Shaheb. Tota, who is aware of Poojas feelings for Riju, tries to stop this. Arunima continues about her chemistry with Shaheb, It is after a long time that I am paired opposite Shaheb. And believe me I am having a blast on the sets. After all, we are great friends.
Arunima is also gearing up to play the role of a talented singer, who fails to get a break, in Atanu Ghoshs next. Mine is a headstrong character. She might be struggling to make it big but even then she is not one to compromise in any way. I loved this aspect of the character and hence, gave my nod for the film. That apart, Atanuda is one of my favourite directors. I am really looking forward to shooting with him, the
actor signs off.
