The team of Joydeep Mukherjee’s film, The Eken, starring
Anirban Chakrabarti, with his two favourite companions
Suhotra Mukhopadhyay and Somak Ghosh, came together at a city restaurant to talk about the 'maachey bhaatey Bengali' detective.
Paayel Sarkar, who plays a pivotal role in the film, was also present at the event along with scriptwriter
Padmanabha Dasgupta.
Excited about Eken Babu coming on the big screen, Anirban said, “Out of all the characters I have played on screen, the character of Eken Babu is my favourite.
We are excited about the fact that Eken Babu is coming to the big screen. I hope that the audience will show the same love for the movie that they have shown for the series.”
Somak, on his part added, “The encouragement I received throughout the film — during each and every shot — has been incredible.”
The title track of the film, which is based on the story of Sujan Dasgupta, has been sung by Sidhu, and the music has been composed by Aamlaann Chakraabarty. The director feels that the twists in the movie will keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
The film is a mystery-thriller where detective Eken Babu gets involved in a chaotic situation. He meets a famous film star and gets an offer to investigate a case that takes a gruesome turn when a murder takes place in the hills.
