Like many others the pandemic scare won’t be able to dampen Gargee RoyChowdhury’s spirit. After all, it’s Durga Puja – Bengal’s biggest festival!
“The pandemic has compelled us to look at life differently. This Puja will be very different but one that’ll be etched on our minds forever. Coronavirus cannot dampen the spirit of Bengal’s biggest festival, can it? I’m gearing up to host Ashtami lunch at my place, with all my relatives over.

To maintain social distancing, we have decided to shift it to our spacious terrace this year. An adda session with friends has also been planned and I’ll slip into the beige dress for it. The red sari will be perfect for the Dashami dinner that I will host at my place,” the versatile actress shares her Puja plans with ETimes in an exclusive chat.
This year the coronavirus pandemic has subdued the grand celebration of Durga Puja while also dampening the spirits of many to a great extent. With most of us not so certain about stepping out, Durga Puja this time around will undoubtedly be not the same.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Gargee will next be seen in Arindam Sil’s ‘Mahananda’ an ambitious project based on the life and works of author and activist Mahashweta Devi who had devoted decades of her life to uplift tribals, especially the Lodha and the Shabar communities of West Bengal. While Gargee Roychowdhury will be seen as Mahasweta Devi, the rest of the cast includes Ishaa Saha and Gaurav Chakrabarty in pivotal roles. The film’s music will be composed by Bickram Ghosh; script is co-written by Subhendu Dasmunshi and Arindam Sil.
