PRAYAGRAJ: The stage is all set to commence the board exams of classes 10 and 12 of Asia's biggest educational board, the UP Secondary Education Board (UP Board), from February 22 in two shifts.
Over 55 lakh candidates have been registered to appear for these exams. Exams for Hindi subjects will be held for both classes 10 and 12 on the first day of the board exams, and admit cards have been distributed to the candidates.
According to Board Secretary Dibyakant Shukla, over 3 lakh invigilators have been deployed for the exams, and each one of them has been given ID cards with QR codes.
The answer books have also been brought under the ambit of QR codes. STF, the local intelligence department, and the police have also become active in stopping cheating in the examination. A three-tier team has been formed to open the question paper packets at the examination centres. Centre administrators, external centre administrators, and static magistrates have been included in this.
Apart from this, a Quick Reaction Team (QRT) has been formed to monitor social media, and the same will remain active 24X7. To monitor the examination centres and strong rooms, the command room set up in all the regional offices including the Board Headquarters has also become active. All the district school inspectors of the state have been instructed to inspect the examination centres at night hours too.
Shukla held an online meeting with all the district school inspectors of the state on Wednesday and gave instructions regarding the examination.
On the first day (Thursday), in the first shift, the High School Hindi and Elementary Hindi examinations will be held in 8273 centres. For intermediate exams, Military Science will be conducted in 244 centres. 29,38,663 candidates have been registered in high school and 5,123 candidates in intermediate.
In the second shift, Hindi and General Hindi examinations for class 12 will be held at 8,232 centres. Commerce examinations in class 10 will be held at 1619 centres. 24,29,278 candidates have been registered in Intermediate and 38,437 candidates in High School.
“The Board has made a new system for opening the question paper packet. Under this, joint accountability of the external centre administrator and the static magistrate has been fixed along with the centre administrator. In case of a wrong opening, action will be taken against all three,” said Shukla.
The Board Secretary added that 1297 sector magistrates, 430 zonal magistrates, 75 state-level observers, and 416 mobile squads have been formed to stop cheating across the state. He said that complete preparations have been made to make the examination free from cheating as per the intention of the government.
