Thiruvananthapuram: The sixth edition of the International Waitress Race, a celebration of skill, dedication and women's empowerment, will be held on Tuesday. The race will commence at 4pm from Vellar Junction, GV Raja Road, culminating at Samudra Beach, covering an approximate distance of 900 metres. Participants will showcase their skills and balance by carrying trays with two to three water-filled bottles, adhering to specific rules and parameters.
Organised by the UDS Group of Hotels and SKAL International, the winners will be recognised with trophies, certificates and cash prizes, while all participants will receive certificates of participation. This annual event aims to elevate the profile of the waitress fraternity, fostering a sense of pride and acknowledging their invaluable contribution to the hospitality industry.
In addition to the race, the day will feature a bed making competition and a mocktail competition during the morning hours, showcasing the diverse talents within the hospitality sector.
A significant highlight of the event will be the recognition of senior women from various fields, including diplomats, medical professionals, media, airlines and hospitality, underscoring the remarkable achievements of women across diverse sectors.
