Footballer I M Vijayan has been promoted as assistant commandant in the Malabar Special Police. Vijayan was serving as Armed Police Inspector in the MSP and the promotion is taking into consideration his contribution for the state and the country in football.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Footballer I M Vijayan has been promoted as assistant commandant in the Malabar Special Police. Vijayan was serving as Armed Police Inspector in the MSP and the promotion is taking into consideration his contribution for the state and the country in football.
Vijayan will be the director of Kerala Police Football Academy that will be attached to MSP.

Police chief Loknath Behera had recommended the starting of the academy as a tribute to MSP which is celebrating its centenary this year.
The home department also transferred a few IPS officers as a precursor of the assembly polls. SP (railways) and women’s police battalion commandant R Nishanthini has been appointed as Pathanamthitta SP. Incumbent P B Rajeev will move to Kasaragod. Commandant of Kerala armed police-3 battalion J Jayanath will take over as AIG coastal police. IG (crimes) G Sparjan Kumar will get the full additional charge of IG (security).
SP (information communication and technology) Divya V Gopinath will get the additional charge of women’s battalion.
