Goa speaker dismisses disqualification plea against 8 Congress MLAs who joined BJP in 2022
Goa Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar dismissed a disqualification petition against eight former Congress MLAs who joined the ruling BJP in 2022. Congress leader Dominic Joao Noronha had filed the petition, alleging violation of the Constitution's tenth schedule. The MLAs argued their move was protected under the same schedule, claiming to represent two-thirds of the Congress legislature party at the time.
