Madhepura man kills elder brother, injures another

MADHEPURA/ PATNA: A man shot his two elder brothers over a land dispute in Madhepura district on Friday night. One brother died from his injuries on Saturday morning, while the other remained critically injured. The accused was arrested.

"The deceased was identified as Anand alias Sinku Kumar (32) and the injured as Raman Kumar (40). The accused was identified as Rahul Kumar (27). Sinku was shot in the chest and abdomen. He worked as a stamp vendor at the Madhepura civil court. Raman Kumar owns a sand-stone chips shop and a private hospital on Sukhasan Road in the town," Madhepura SDPO Pravendra Bharti said.

The deceased's youngest brother, Chhotu Kumar, added, "My eldest brother, Raman, was at his shop when he was shot. Later, Sinku was shot after returning home from the market."

Following the shooting, nearby residents admitted Raman to sadar hospital, while Sinku was referred to Jan Nayak Karpuri Thakur Medical College Hospital, where he later died.
