‘Suspended by BEST’, man kills son & ends life

Palghar: A 40-year-old man allegedly murdered his 15-year-old son before hanging himself at their farmhouse in Palghar on Wednesday. The man, Sharad Bhoye, had been suspended from his job with BEST.The man had gone to the farmhouse at Pimpalsheth village, Jawhar taluka, at noon.His son, Bhavesh, later visited the place. He strangled the boy using a nylon rope before smashing his head on the floor, leaving the place smeared in blood, said officials of Jawhar police station. The father then went to another room and hanged himself from the ceiling. Both died on the spot, police said, adding that they are probing if the man was depressed after losing his job. —Vishal Rajemahadik
