MUMBAI: YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani arrived at the Maharashtra Cyber Cell office in response to official summons issued in connection with the derogatory content aired in the India's Got Latent case. The program was taken down after nationwide outrage.
The Cyber Cell is investigating the obscenity case filed against Allahbadia and others over alleged inappropriate comments made during a YouTube program.
A police officer from the Cyber Cell confirmed that Allahbadia and Chanchlani recorded their statements on Monday regarding the case registered against them and a few others. In total, statements of four individuals have been recorded so far.
The Cyber Cell summoned Allahbadia on February 17 for questioning on February 24 regarding his controversial statement about watching parents on Samay Raina's show. The comment sparked nationwide outrage and social media criticism, including condemnation from the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has also summoned Allahbadia, Sharan Raina, and Apoorva Mukhija over offensive remarks made in a now-removed video. The revised summons requires Allahbadia and Mukhija to appear on March 6, while Raina must present himself on March 11.
Despite Allahbadia releasing a video apology on social media platforms, the situation escalated, with multiple police complaints being filed against him nationwide.

Allahbadia's question to a contestant—"Would you rather watch your parents... or join in once and stop it forever?"—triggered widespread outrage, leading to a formal complaint against Allahbadia, Raina, comedian Apoorva Mukhija, and the show's organisers.
On February 18, the Supreme Court weighed in on the matter, strongly condemning Allahbadia's remarks. Justices Surya Kant and N. Kotiswar Singh described the comments as "dirty and perverted," emphasising that such behavior must be unequivocally condemned.
The episodes of India's Got Latent have since been removed by the host, Samay Raina.
