Bijnor: A case was registered against the management, principal, and contractor of a degree college in the Mandawar police station area of Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, for unauthorised pruning of mango trees on the institution's premises.
According to an FIR filed by the forest department, the college administration allegedly pruned more than half a dozen mango trees without obtaining required permission. Local residents had reported the matter to the department, after which an investigation was conducted, confirming the violation.
Bijnor ranger, Mahesh Chandra Gautam, said, "A case has been registered against the college's manager Haarun, principal Shawez, and contractor Arjun Kumar, under Sections 4 and 10 of the UP Forest Conservation Act. Legal action is underway."
