MKU forms special team for action on MoUs signed

MADURAI: Madurai Kamaraj University has constituted a special team called ‘MoU Action’ to organise the programmes from the outcomes of MoU’s that the varsity signs with various institutions. Addressing the Academic Council Meeting held at university premises on Friday, vice chancellor of MKU, P P

said that the university has proposed to sign more than 100 MoU’s with renowned universities and educational organisations in India and abroad.

Starting from November, the university has been entering into Memorandum of Understanding with various outfits and organisations. So far it has signed

MoUs

with 16 such institutions namely University of Wisconsin, Eastern University of Sri Lanka, Binary University, Malaysia, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, etc and associations/outfits like Tamil Manimandram, Tamil Kappagam and Ulaga Samadhana Alayam from Malaysia, Tamil Sangam in Uganda, Tamil Arts and Culture Association, Australia, MS Chellamuthu Trust in Madurai and MoUs were also signed with Guru Hospital, Madurai and

After signing MoUs, the varsity has organised series of international & national conferences in first two weeks of December. Now, this MoU Action team will take care of the programmes based on MoUs signed. The team will be headed by vice-chancellor himself and consist registrar, syndicate members, deans, associate and assistant professors of various schools as members.

from Saraswathi Narayanan College at Madurai said that university should attempt to revive the morning college which was held between 6.45 am to 8.45 am. He was citing the recent effort of MKU in reviving evening college. “A lot of office goers benefitted from that morning college when it was functioning”, he mentioned. He also sought smart classroom and wifi facilities in affiliated colleges.
