Rane, is ready to take over as chief minister as he has 15 years of political experience, but that the final decision would be taken by the party leadership.
When asked about dissent in the party and whether Vishwajit was in the reckoning for the top post, she said, “I don’t know about the dissent, but whatever it is, the party high command will decide”.
When asked if her husband is ready for the chief minister’s post, Deviya said, “Of course. I think any elected representative would be ready, and he is a very experienced politician over the past 15 years, but the final decision would be taken by the central leadership”.
When asked if Vishwajit aspires to be
CM
, Deviya reiterated that the party would decide. “There are no camps in BJP (Sawant and Vishwajit camps), this is all created by the media and there is nothing like that,” she said.
When asked if she would also stake claim for a cabinet berth after she has won with the highest margin, Deviya said, “I am not staking claim for anything. If the party thinks I am worthy of being in the cabinet, its decision is final,” she said.
