KURUKSHETRA: Former
Haryana chief minister (CM) and leader of opposition
Bhupinder Singh Hooda accompanied
Congress candidates Ashok Arora in Thanesar, Ram Karan Kala in Shahabad and Mewa Singh in Ladwa, for filing their nomination papers in Thanesar, Shahabad and Ladwa constituencies of Kurukshetra district on Thursday. Hooda also addressed large public gatherings before going for the filing of the papers.
Speaking in Kurukshetra, Bhupinder Hooda said, “The countdown of
BJP has started in Haryana, and the departure of this corrupt and false government from the state is certain.
BJP will have to tell what happened to the promise of doubling the income of farmers by 2022? Why did the cost of crops increase manifold by increasing the rates of diesel, fertilizers and seeds in ten years? Why was the 13-month-long farmer movement and 750 martyrdoms ignored.”
During Hooda’s visit former MLA Banta Ram Valmiki, Tejveer Singh and former media in-charge of BJP Advocate Rajkumar Sharma joined the Congress in Kurukshetra. Hooda and Ashok Arora welcomed them into the party and assured them of full respect.
Hooda appealed to people to vote for the Congress candidates. “Now Congress is going to get a chance to thank the public through its development works and welfare schemes. Congress candidates from Ladwa, Thanesar and Shahabad will register a big victory and the area will have a big share in the government,” he stated.
“BJP has conspired and fielded many vote-cutter parties and candidates in the elections. Tickets have been distributed at the behest of BJP to cut into Congress' votes. BJP and vote-cutter candidates are cheating not only Congress but the people of the state together. Therefore, you have to be careful and get every vote cast for the Congress candidate”, Hooda said.
“Every time farmers have to take to the streets to get MSP for their crops. Not only farmers, but every section including employees, traders, workers, youth, householders, casual workers have suffered the BJP's breach of promises and dictatorship. Therefore, every section and all communities of the state have united and decided to vote for the Congress,” he stated.
