TIRUPATI: TDP legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy set a record by laying the foundation stone for 105 development projects in a single day at the Nellore Rural Assembly Constituency on Sunday.
The marathon foundation stone-laying event, which began at 6 AM, continued until 10:30 PM, as the TDP legislator and his brother, Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, traveled from one location to another throughout the day.
Speaking to reporters, Kotamreddy stated that after coming to power, the TDP-led NDA government allocated ₹191 crore for various development works in the Nellore Rural Assembly Constituency alone. Additionally, ₹75 crore has been earmarked for the construction of two flyovers in the region.
"In addition to the development works inaugurated on Sunday, foundation stones for another 198 projects will be laid next week," the Nellore Rural MLA added.
Dismissing claims that the record-breaking number of foundation stone-laying ceremonies was a publicity stunt, Kotamreddy assured that all 303 planned development projects would be completed in a time-bound manner by May 20, without any delays.
Meanwhile, several TDP ministers praised Kotamreddy’s efforts in driving significant development in the Nellore Rural Assembly Constituency. They noted that this was the highest number of foundation stones laid by a sitting MLA in a single day, not just in Nellore district but in the history of Andhra Pradesh as well.
