Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission provides over 58K jobs in five years
Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has provided jobs to more than 58,000 candidates in the last five years. According to the data released by the Commission, 94,38,310 applications were received for the recruitment examinations in five years. Out of these, 77,99,776 candidates registered for the examination, and 81,447 candidates reached the interview stage. The Commission finally selected a total of 58,186 candidates for different jobs.The pace of recruitment slowed down a bit in 2024 due to the RO/ARO paper leak case. However, the Commission will conduct and complete the process by 2025, and with the addition of posts under PCS, the numbers will increase by over 2,000 more.On the other hand, from 2022 to 2024, the Commission received 15,29,728 applications for various recruitment examinations. Out of these, 13,29,728 candidates registered for appear in the recruitment examinations of the Commission, and 14,173 candidates managed to reach the interview stage. The Commission finally selected 12,501 candidates.
In the last five years, 45,685 candidates were selected in the first three years, while in next two years 12,501 were selected.In addition to this, the process of recruitment to 947 posts under PCS Examination-2024 will be completed this year. At the same time, the Commission is also preparing to complete the process of recruitment to 604 posts of assistant engineer under the Combined State Engineering Services Examination-2024 in 2025. Recruitment to 38 posts of assistant registrar is also expected to be completed this year.The graph climbed rapidly due to recruitment to the posts of LT grade teacher and lecturer. The Commission issued an advertisement for 10,768 posts for LT grade teacher recruitment in March 2018, but the selection process of the candidates was completed in 2020 or thereafter. At the same time, the Commission issued an advertisement for 1,473 posts of lecturer GIC in 2020, and the selection process was completed on time.On February 11, 2024, the examination was cancelled due to a paper leak in the Review Officer (RO)/Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Preliminary Examination-2024. Also, some examinations were postponed, causing the graph of recruitment to come down rapidly. The preliminary examination for recruitment to 441 posts of RO/ARO is now to be held on July 27.
