The coronation ceremony of Balkrishna, a close aide of Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, would be performed in the next year’s Kumbh at Haridwar.

While talking to TOI on phone from Haridwar, Acharya Narendra Giri said, “Acharya Balkrishna is a renowned intellect of the country and considered an authority when it comes to knowledge regarding Indian herbs and Vedic medicinal practices. It is his wisdom which deems fit for him being coronated as the mahamandaleshwar of our akhara.”

Besides an important office-bearer of Niranjani Akhara, Giri is also the president of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP).

He added, “I have met him and proposed the idea of coronating him as the Mahamandaleshwar of our akhara, which was agreed upon by all and the ceremony would be held at next year’s Kumbh here at Haridwar”. We have also spoken to Acharya Ramdev who has also given his consent on the issue, he added.
