Stop atrocities on minorities: Tripura Muslim org to B’desh
Agartala: Worried about the rising atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh, Tripura Gausia Committee, a prominent Islamic organisation of the state, Thursday demanded urgent action to address the issue, including the desecration of the Indian national flag.
Speaking to the media, Abdul Barik, president of the committee, said the political turmoil in Bangladesh has triggered unrest in the region.
The organisation submitted a memo to the Bangladesh authority through the DM of West Tripura. “Immediate action against desecration of Indian national flags in Bangladesh, protection of minorities, and ensuring the safety of their leaders, homes, and properties,” the memorandum stated.
“We hope Bangladesh govt will take these concerns seriously and ensure the safety and dignity of all its citizens, especially those belonging to minority communities,” Barik said.
