NEW DELHI: AI Engineering Services Ltd (AIESL) has bagged a major order from Kuwait Airways for conducting “higher checks” on its seven Boeing 777s. A subsidiary of erstwhile government-owned Air India, AIESL is slated to get privatised next fiscal.
“Our customer reposing confidence in us and coming back with a bigger order is a testimony to our excellence as a maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) organisation. Last year Kuwait Airways had sent some B777s to our facilities in Nagpur and Mumbai. This year they have come back with an order for higher checks of planes,” AIESL CEO Sharad Agarwal said.
The MRO has 5,400 employees comprising 1,000 engineers, 300 specialised technicians and 3,000 technicians. “In the last three years, we have clocked revenue of Rs 2,100 crore per year,” Agarwal said.
In a social media post, AIESL said: “We extend our sincere gratitude to Kuwait Airways for their continued trust in AIESL and for once again choosing us as their preferred MRO partner. It is our privilege to support Kuwait Airways with world class aircraft maintenance solutions, and we are excited to strengthen this partnership further. The arrival of another Kuwait Airways B777 at our Nagpur facility marks the extension of the long standing strategic partnership built on trust, excellence, and innovation.”
“AIESL's state of the art infrastructure, highly skilled workforce, and commitment to the highest industry standards ensure seamless maintenance operations with optimised turnaround time (TAT). At AIESL, we take pride in supporting international carriers with world class MRO services, reinforcing India’s standing as a key player in the Global Aviation Ecosystem,” the post added.
