MG Windsor Pro EV Launch Live Updates: Features, range, price & more upgrades

In terms of visual updates, the Windsor EV Pro gets new 18-inch alloy wheel designs. Additionally, it is now offered in three new colour choices: Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver.

One of the major upgrades on the new Windsor EV Pro is its larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, which offers a range of up to 449 km on a full charge. It continues to use the same motor, delivering 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque. The car supports a 7.4 kWh AC charger that takes about 9.5 hours for a full charge, while the 60 kW DC fast charger can charge it from 20% to 80% in just 50 minutes.

Bookings for the MG Windsor Pro EV will officially open on May 8, 2025.

The MG Windsor Pro EV has officially been launched at an introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh, ex-showroom, applicable for the first 8,000 bookings. For buyers opting for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, the EV will be available at a lower upfront price of Rs 12.50 lakh, ex-showroom, with a battery rental cost of Rs 4.5 per kilometre.

Not long ago, we shared exclusive spy shots of a test unit that clearly hinted at the presence of ADAS features. The vehicle had a radar module mounted on the windshield and an ‘ADAS’ badge on the tailgate. The Windsor EV Pro will likely come equipped with advanced driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking, among others.

The current MG Windsor EV already offers a strong list of features, including a large 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital driver display, wireless phone charging, a panoramic glass roof, and a 9-speaker Infinity sound system. Safety features like six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and an electronic parking brake are also part of the package and are expected to continue in the updated model.

MG continues to grow strongly in India’s electric vehicle market. In April 2025, the company sold 5,829 vehicles, a 23% increase compared to 4,725 units sold in April last year. In March, electric vehicles made up over 85% of MG’s total sales.

For reference, the existing Windsor EV is powered by a 38 kWh battery paired with a front-axle mounted motor producing 134 bhp. It has been India’s top-selling electric car for the past seven months - ever since its debut in September 2024.

The updated Windsor EV Pro is likely to offer a lot more than just range. New tech additions such as ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and emergency braking are expected. On top of that, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities will allow the EV to power external devices or even charge another EV.

The Windsor EV Pro is going to get a significant upgrade with a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack. That’s a big leap from the current 38 kWh unit, and it could take the driving range up to an estimated 460+ km on a full charge. The battery is slightly larger than the one used in the Wuling Cloud EV sold in Indonesia.

JSW MG Motor India is all set to launch the Windsor EV Pro today, May 6. The Windsor EV has already made waves in the Indian EV market, clocking over 20,000 units since its debut in September 2024. Currently it is sold in three variants- Excite, Exclusive, and Essence - priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Pro version will pack in more tech, features, and performance to challenge rivals like the Creta EV and Tata Curvv.
