Bangkok earthquake: Scary video shows family trapped on 31st floor of swaying building

Terrifying Video Shows Bangkok High-Rise Collapsing Like A Pack Of Cards In Five Seconds
Two powerful earthquakes in Myanmar sent tremors across Bangkok on Friday, shaking high-rise buildings and sparking chaos. A viral video captured the terrifying moment a Korean family was trapped on the 31st floor of a swaying tower, with a child screaming in distress.
The earthquakes, measuring magnitudes of 7.7 and 6.4, struck near Monywa in central Myanmar, causing intense shaking felt across the border in Thailand’s capital. The video, shared by an X user, shows the family stuck in the high-rise as the tremors rattled the building.

In a follow-up post, the user confirmed the family safely evacuated. “We’ve come down from the 31st floor. The little one is fine too. They’re so brave, didn’t fuss at all even when we had to take the stairs,” the post read.
The quake’s impact was so intense that water from rooftop pools spilled over, resembling a “scary waterfall,” as seen in another viral video. The violent shaking also caused a 30-story government office building under construction in Bangkok to collapse, trapping 43 workers, according to AFP.
Authorities continue to assess the damage while rescue efforts are underway.
