India's Got Latent controversy sparked widespread outrage in the country, and everyone associated with it has faced the consequences. Many celebrities criticised the show's obscene content, blaming Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchalani, and others. While these creators face legal charges,
Shekhar Suman has strongly denounced the show and urged the government to prohibit it.
He even said he was 'disgusted' after hearing the parents' joke on the broadcast. Shekhar Suman spoke to Instant Bollywood at an event about India's Got Latent and aggressively criticised Ranveer Allahbadia and others. He explained that when disgusting words are made regarding parents, these persons should be expelled from this country. They shouldn't live in this country.
(People are doing vulgar things in the pretext of roast and on the pretext of freedom of speech on YouTube. Freedom of speech doesn't mean that you start abusing and after hearing this, the country falls sick)."
He then demanded the government to prohibit India's Got Latent and deport those guilty. The actor stated that the government should shut down the show and deport these people.
India's Got Latent dispute emerged in February 2025 following Ranveer Allahbadia's appearance. The episode drew criticism as Ranveer's comment about 'parents having s*x' upset everyone. "Would you rather watch your parents having s*x or join in once to stop it forever?" he had asked a participant. This question provoked tremendous uproar across the Internet. Multiple FIRs were filed against him in Assam, Maharashtra, and Jaipur.
Not only Ranveer, but also Apoorva Mukhija, dubbed The Rebel Kid, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, and a few more have gotten into legal difficulties. The legal proceedings for this case are currently ongoing. Following the uproar, Samay removed all episodes of India's Got Latent off YouTube.
