In a candid chat on Paras Chhabra’s podcast, actress Sambhavna Seth opened up about her heartwarming journey with husband Avinash Dwivedi. From meeting on a reality show to navigating career setbacks and unconditional support, she shared untold stories about their bond, resilience, and his inspiring transformation and journey to success.
I was impressed by him that he is different. I was judging a reality show called ‘Dance Sangram’. He was a contestant. Shweta Tiwari and Saroj Masterji (Khan) were also judging. Shweta and I were also mentors.
When I saw Avinash perform for the first time, I told everyone that he is going to win. I go all out to support good talent. I didn’t know he is going to come to my team. But he selected me as his mentor. He could have gone to other team. He said, “I want to go to Sambhavna’s team, she looks a bit like my ex.” I was like he is flirting openly.
When he won the show, there were many other dignitaries. But while receiving the trophy, he held my hands. It was not required, it was his moment, but he did. He had won a bike and something around Rs 25 lakh cash prize. Then we went our ways.
Then he called me from Delhi sharing his plans to shift to Mumbai. He wanted to meet me and stay near me. I would think all of them as kids, the students. He was quite persistent about marrying me. I thought he is joking. But Avinash has gone out of his way to shower love on me. Hadein paar kkar dena wala pyar kiya hai.
Ever since he came to Mumbai, his motive was to first marry me and they concentrate on career. But in that, my parents had problem because he wasn’t doing anything. But we decided that we would get married and I had earned enough for both of us to have a decent life. We didn’t know everything is going to change after marriage.
Avinash was not getting acting roles. He had done one Bhojpuri film for which he had won many awards. He was getting many Bhojpuri film offers. But I had decided for him that he should struggle and concentrate on what he wants to do. I was taking care of him. He started writing and he had skills, which I didn’t know back then. In acting auditions, he would clear and then get replaced. People would taunt and laugh at me saying my husband was doing nothing.
His first project, he got to read his script with his partner. The one he narrated to, she later called Avinash and they created it independently. With Dupahiya releasing, we are on cloud 9. He has struggled a lot and now he deserves all that limelight.
