Holi in 2025 will be celebrated on March 14. The festival begins with Holika Dahan on the night of March 13, followed by the Rangwali Holi (color festival) on March 17.Holi is a Hindu festival that marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes the victory of good over evil. It is widely celebrated in India and other parts of the world with vibrant colors, music, and festive gatherings.
Now Papia Sengupta shared exclusively, "Holi for me now depends on my mood. Since I’m working, I usually prefer spending the day at home, unwinding, or maybe stepping out briefly with friends. But this year, I plan to stay in and spend time with my three dogs, especially since I won’t be shooting for Jamai No. 1. There’s no particular tradition I follow anymore. Earlier, we would start the day with a bath, offer red color to God, and then apply a bit of color to each other at home. But after losing both my parents, those traditions faded."
She further added, "If they were here, I would have sought their blessings, touching their feet with color. Now, it’s just a simple day, maybe cooking something special because I’m a foodie at heart. We don’t celebrate Holi on set since we usually have the day off, and meeting friends and family has become rare, with everyone scattered across different cities. Holi in childhood was something else—our entire society felt like family. We would gather for Holika Dahan, share sweets, play games, and celebrate together. The next day was all about colors, food, and endless fun, from morning till night. Even the elders joined in; it was a festival that truly brought people together."
Papia then concluded, "Now, that warmth and excitement have faded. Times have changed, and so have we. But the memories remain, and I cherish them deeply. Wishing everyone Happy Holi!"
