Comedy Circus fame Shakeel Siddiqui claims Kapil Sharma's show is similar to his old Pakistani show; says 'I am not saying he stole my idea but...'

Kapil Sharma, one of India's eminent comedians, is accused of drawing inspiration for his show from a Pakistani show. Pakistani comedians Shakeel Siddiqui and Tabish Hashmi suggest parallels between Sharma's and their concepts, emphasizing the noticeable similarities between the two. Despite the allegations, Sharma is commended for his craftsmanship.

Kapil Sharma is one of India's biggest comedians. After winning six seasons of Sony's Comedy Circus and appearing on many reality comedy shows, including Ustaadon Ka Ustaad in 2008 and Star Ya Rockstar in 2011, he launched his own show, Comedy Nights With Kapil. Five years later, he renamed his show The Kapil Sharma Show. Currently, his show The Great Indian Kapil Show is available on Netflix, where it has two seasons. While he continues to lead the comedy industry, many allege that the premise for his show was taken from a Pakistani comic show.
hakeel Siddiqui, a Pakistani comedian and television performer, feels the Indian comic may have been inspired by his old Pakistani show, Banno Tere Abba Ki Oonchi Haveli.
Siddiqui told YouTuber Nadir Ali, "I had a show called Banno Tere Abba Ki Oonchi Haveli. The concept of the show was similar to Kapil Sharma's. I am not saying that he stole my idea, but his concept is very close to mine. However, Kapil Sharma is an excellent artist who understands his craft. He is really nice to me and respects me a lot."
Shakeel Siddiqui and Kapil Sharma both appeared in shows such as Ustaado Ka Ustaad and Comedy Circus.
Previously, another Pakistani comic, Tabish Hashmi, alleged that Kapil Sharma took notions from Umar Sharif and Amanullah when he was accused of stealing an Indian comedian's premise for his program Hasna Mana Hai.
In an interview with Geo.tv, Tabish Hashmi stated, "On Kapil's show, the set represents Delhi. Our set represents Lahore, and the two cities are identical. I have been to both cities. Delhi resembles Lahore, and vice versa. This is Umar Sharif's notion. This is Amanullah's concept. "This is our concept."

He further said that Kapil spent millions on his show and marketed it as if it were his original concept. Kapil Sharma previously stated that the plays he performed in Amritsar inspired him to create his successful comedy show.
