Google has announced new updates for its visual search tool, Google Lens. The company has confirmed that the Google Lens will now allow users to search with voice and video inputs. Earlier this year, Google previewed Lens’ video understanding capabilities at its I/O developer conference. Now users can also access Lens to search by taking a video and asking questions about the moving objects that they see.
Apart from this, Google Lens will also offer users the option to ask a question with their voice. Voice input will be available for users whenever they take a photo with Google Lens. For this, users have to point their camera, hold the shutter button and ask whatever’s on their mind.
Previously, users had to take a picture and then type in their questions manually. Now, with voice input in Google Lens, users can search what they see and ask questions about it all in one go.
Google Lens voice input and video search: Availability
In a blog post, Google confirmed that the video search capability is available globally in the Google app (for both
Android and iPhones) for Search Labs users enrolled in the “AI Overviews and more” experiment, with support for English queries. Meanwhile, voice input for Google Lens is also available globally for English queries in the Google app for both Android and
iPhone users.
