"Wth is stories on Instagram... Reels, posts WTF": Zerodha’s Nithin Kamath confused by Instagram features; social media reacts

Nithin Kamath, the co-founder of Zerodha, has built one of India's most successful financial platforms, mastering the complexities of stock markets and wealth management. However, in a recent lighthearted admission, he revealed that social media—specifically Instagram—presents a unique challenge for him. Kamath took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his confusion over Instagram’s many features, humorously questioning whether he was "too old" or if the platform was simply "too complex" to use.
His post quickly gained attention, resonating with many users who also find Instagram’s constantly evolving features overwhelming. Accompanying his tweet was a screenshot of a conversation with his colleagues, in which they attempted to explain the various Instagram functions—including Stories, Reels, and Carousels—leaving Kamath both amused and bewildered. The exchange sparked a flurry of responses from social media users, with many offering their own experiences and advice.

Kamath’s post humorously detailed his confusion regarding Instagram’s interface and features. In his conversation with colleagues, he posed a simple yet relatable question: "What the hell is Stories on Instagram?"
His colleague Krishna Lohia responded, listing additional features: "Stories, Reels, posts… WTF."
When another colleague mentioned that Instagram also has "Community" features, Kamath’s reaction was a resigned: "Damn."
The conversation became even more amusing when Karthik Rangappa, another member of the Zerodha team, added that Instagram posts could be of different types—normal posts and carousel posts. Kamath, clearly overwhelmed, replied: "What! How are people not confused with all of this?"

Kamath’s candid admission sparked a wave of entertaining responses on X, with many users playfully sympathizing with his struggle. Some of the most notable reactions included, "Welcome to the Instagram maze, Nithin!". Another wrote, "If you can survive Twitter, you can survive anything. Instagram is just Twitter with pictures."
One commented, "Bro, tell us how to make money, and we’ll teach you how to use Insta!" Some even suggested that Kamath should attend an "Instagram training session" conducted by his own team to help him navigate the platform. His confusion continued when someone asked him to share a post, to which he responded: "Btw, share as what? Post, story?"
