WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called chat themes, allowing users to personalize their messaging experience with colorful chat bubbles and custom wallpapers. With this update, users gain more control over how their chats look, adding a splash of creativity and individuality to their conversations. Announcing the new feature in a post on X (formerly Twitter), WhatsApp wrote “chat themes are here! choose a theme or create your own — select bubble colors and mix with fun backgrounds (only you can see it �� so choose what you want)”.
As the name suggests, the new feature includes options to change the colors of chat bubbles and backgrounds. WhatsApp offers a range of pre-set themes that adjust both the background and bubbles automatically. There’s also an option to mix and match colors to create a completely unique theme.
In addition to themes, WhatsApp has also introduced 30 new wallpaper options. Users can pick from these built-in designs or upload their own background from their camera roll, ensuring that their chats stand out.
How to change chat themes in WhatsApp
To apply a default theme across all chats, users can navigate to Settings > Chats > Default chat theme. For customizing individual chats:
