Man complains about Grok 3: Elon Musk's ex-girlfriend replies, 'Life has become a lot more interesting than ...'
In a recent social media exchange, Elon Musk's ex-girlfriend, Grimes, offered her perspective on the latest developments surrounding xAI's chatbot, Grok 3. This comes in the wake of user feedback highlighting some of the AI's unconventional behaviours.
The conversation began when a user posted a video showcasing Grok 3's "unhinged mode," where the chatbot let out an intense 30-second scream, insulted the user, and then hung up. The user captioned the video, "Grok 3 Voice Mode, following repeated, interrupting requests to yell louder, lets out an inhuman 30-second scream, insults me, and hangs up."
Responding to this, Grimes, Elon Musk's ex-girlfriend and mother of three of his children expressed her fascination with the AI's capabilities. Grimes reshared the video and commented, "This is significantly better than any scene in any current sci-fi cinema in recent history. Life has definitely become a lot more interesting than art lately. Art is like sadly limping along trying to be as interesting as life. I am fairly convinced that the top creative talent is not actually in the arts at the moment."

A user then commented on Grimes’ post and said that Grok 3 spits out when asked to surface level roleplay. “What are you talking about? Better than sci-fi cinema? Lol. This is just a basic TTS model reading out loud whatever Grok 3 spits out when asked to surface level roleplay. It’s a weak facsimile of what sci-fi promises us. Not profound, not sentient, not even a compelling performance. It’s literally just reading a script without a giving the slightest fuck of what its reading because that’s exactly what’s happening. This isn’t Her’s Samantha. Not even close. It wants to be, but all it really does is highlight the gap between what we wish AI could be and what it actually is,” reads the post.

“That's part of why it's good - there's so many layers to analyze. Also to be clear I'm talking about this video as a piece of cinema. The man is great too - like as "a scene" this is very compelling. The camera pov being like a hand held phone - like a normal film wouldn't think to shoot this- but there's so much like narrative in it, and horror, and sadness etc. (Not throwing shade at X AI, no one’s made something that feels truly alive yet. We’re just not there.),” replied Grimes.

Grok 3, known for its bold responses and advanced functionalities, has been making headlines for its unique interactive modes, including the controversial "unhinged mode." While some users find the chatbot's behaviour entertaining and thought-provoking, others raise concerns about the ethical boundaries and safety mechanisms of such AI applications.
