Apple has rolled out first beta iOS 18.4, bringing a host of new features to iPhone users, including the much-anticipated Priority Notifications. This new feature, powered by Apple Intelligence, aims to help users manage their notifications more effectively by highlighting the most important alerts.
What Are priority notifications?
Priority Notifications use on-device intelligence to analyse the importance of various notifications and display the most critical ones in a dedicated section at the top of the Lock Screen. Unlike the traditional method of sorting notifications by time, this feature ensures that important alerts are always visible, regardless of when they were received.
How to enable priority notifications
The Priority Notifications feature is disabled by default, but enabling it is a straightforward process. Here’s how you can turn it on:
- Open settings: Navigate to the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap on notifications: Scroll down and select the Notifications option.
- Enable Prioritise notifications: Find the Prioritize Notifications feature and toggle it on.
Once enabled, your iPhone will start displaying important notifications in a separate section on the Lock Screen, making it easier for you to catch up on what you may have missed.
Additional features in iOS 18.4
Apart from Priority Notifications, iOS 18.4 also brings support for ten new languages, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. The update introduces enhancements to Apple Intelligence and other features aimed at improving the overall user experience.
