“The Chiefs get way more calls”: Rob Gronkowski says that the Chiefs gets more favorable calls than the Patriots

In an interview on the Up & Adams Show, Rob Gronkowski claimed that the Kansas City Chiefs receive more favorable referee calls compared to his time with the New England Patriots. He recounted personal experiences of not getting calls and facing tough defenses, while Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes has had many interceptions called back due to penalties.

Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski said Kansas City Chiefs have received too much in alleged favoritism from NFL referees, at least, on an Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams. Hosted by Kay Adams, the direct question was if the Chiefs were getting officiated better than anybody else in this dynasty and Gronkowski had a refreshingly honest reply.
Gronkowski played for the New England Patriots for nine years and finished his final two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rob Gronkowski says the Chiefs have received too much favoritism

Kay Adams interviewed Rob Gronkowski on Up & Adams to discuss whether the Kansas City Chiefs receive more favorable penalty calls than the New England Patriots during their 20-year dynasty. Gronkowski said, "I would say so, I didn't really get calls. I was double-teamed, I was basically executed off of the line of scrimmage half the time and five yards into the route. And then they would call pass interference on me when I was trying to get the guy off of me. Remember when I hit Tre'Davious White?"

He added, “Because he held me four times in one play and then Tom threw an interception to him, and then I finally flipped out because it was the 50th time I had been held that year, so I gave him a people's elbow, just like it was WWE.” He concluded, "Yeah, the Chiefs get way more calls than the Patriots. I don't even remember getting calls. Specifically for myself, I didn't get any calls, maybe as a team, I don't know ... Tom might have gotten some calls, but for myself, I used to get pounded, guys used to jump on my back and nothing would be called.”
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has had the most interceptions called back since 2018, with 17 since 2018 called back to penalties. The Chiefs have also won 15 games with fewer penalties than their opponents since the 2022 season. James Nagle brought attention to an alleged questionable call against the Bengals for pass interference. Even with a host of questionable penalties, Gronk's take on the Chiefs' penalties doesn't change.
