The 2025 offseason seems to be filled with big moves and internal reshuffling. It has been reported that Coach Prime will be counting on the big name hire and all eyes are on offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.
Deion Sanders, on the other hand has hinted at some big move which is coming to his coaching staff for the Colorado Buffaloes.

Byron Leftwich- Why have Shannon Sharpe preserved that he deserves a spot for leading an NFL organization?

Taking a look at Byron Leftwich’s career journey, he has been out of a job since the month of January 2023- the time he has left Bucs.
Later he joined a coaching staff that is already thick with NFL experience and championship success. In the year 2024, Leftwich has served as a graduate assistant.

In the 21st episode of the “Nightcap” Podcast with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Sharpe candidly shared why he vouched for Leftwich. He said, “Former Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich is joining Colorado’s coaching staff.”
“I don’t know what happened in Tampa because he went from a guy who had an opportunity to get a head coaching job to being out of the league,” Sharpe further said.
“But if you notice, every other offensive coordinator that has ever coached Tom Brady, what has he got in the NFL Ocho? A head. Coaching. Job. Charlie Weis, Bill O’Brien, Josh McDaniels,” he said in the podcast.
Leftwich has a spontaneous 10-year career with the quarterback in the NFL. Perfectly he was also a part of the Super Bowl in the year 2009 with the Steelers.
“Three play-callers got jobs. One guy, Bill O’Brien, never won a Super Bowl with him. He lost. This guy won a Super Bowl calling plays,” Sharpe said.
During the conversation, co-host, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson made some arguments that Leftwich’s contributions were undervalued because Tom Brady was at quarterback by many but Sharpe stood defensive by saying that- Weis, O’Brien, and McDaniels were arguably overvalued because Brady was their quarterback.
Seemingly, Charlie Weis was the first OC of Brady from the year 2000 to 2004. He quit because he headed a new team at Notre Dame in 2005 as a head coach.
Byron has a good presence in the minds of others. In an old video which was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, Brady was seen praising Leftiwich.
“Byron has a great presence about him. He’s a former quarterback. So I think so much of how he sees the game is through the eyes of the quarterback…,” Brady said.
