The Dallas Cowboys are known for their several big-name free agent, but the news hits a new corner when they have to make decisions on including the star defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa.
The news broke the ground when sources told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano on March 2, Sunday. Sources say that the Cowboys have planned to replace the franchise tag on Odighizuwa.

It must be noted that the franchise tag must be reached and used by an agreement by Tuesday at 4:00 PM ET. The deadline seems narrow but the heat boils on the players now.
Speaking about Osa, new Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said, “Obviously Osa has done a terrific job for us.” He shared the news on The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Brian hurls praises for Osa as he continues to speak.
He further added, “He's a terrific young player. He does everything right. As those communications keep going, it's never done until it's done. He's a guy we would love to have back.”
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, “Osa Odighizuwa and Philadelphia’s Milton Williams are considered the two top interior defensive linemen.” The cowboys strongly believe that Osa is more defensive for their work and hence worth for the deal.
Looking back to his career portfolio, Osa marks a couple of good win. His best season was recorded in the year 2024 with a kick start of a career high of 4.5 sacks.
He recorded 5 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble and 1 pass deflection, which tied him with Cowboys Micah Parsons. Osa was also credited with 54 pressures.
We can tell him a true passionate sportsman who has thrived in his career, bagging a higher pressure rate than Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Carter in the year 2024. Such instincts of Osa motivated Dallas to keep under contract for years to come.

Reports suggest that for one year of tag, Osa could be fully guaranteed $25,122,000 in 2025 which crosses The Cap. This is not the first time, it has been witnessed earlier during the time of the Kansas City Chiefs.
One of the takeaways of Osa is that he relies more on leverage than on brute strength. He has created history by playing a career-high 860 snaps, which can be decoded as (77.9%) for the year 2024.
