The undefeated Spanish-Georgian fighter has vacated his featherweight title to compete within the 155-pound class, a selection confirmed via UFC president Dana White. However, Pimblett isn't thrilled with Topuria's rise and has reignited their feud with a warning of his downfall
Their feud dates back to 2022 in London, where Topuria threw a bottle at Pimblett earlier in an event. Now, their rivalry has resurfaced as they set their eyes on the light-weight championship.

On Tuesday, Paddy Pimblett addressed Illia Topuria in an interview with 'Round Eight Boxing.' The Liverpool fighter made it clear that he wants to face Topuria in the octagon. “I can’t see him getting a title shot straight away,” Pimblett said. “I think he’s going to have to fight a Poirier, an Arman [Tsarukyan], or a Charles if he wants a title shot.”

Pimblett further stated and sent a warning of his downfall. "That’s the fight I want, I want that fight,that’s another one just to prove everyone wrong. He’s a midget, lad. He’s not a lightweight; he shouldn’t be fighting at lightweight, It’s gonna be the downfall of his career.”
Despite his sturdy phrases, Pimblett is currently targeted in his upcoming combat towards Michael Chandler at UFC 314, scheduled for April in Miami. Meanwhile, Topuria is also on his route closer to the identity, with probable a shorter direction than Pimblett.
Pimblett additionally criticized Topuria's choice to depart the featherweight division, arguing that he should have defended his name more before making the jump.
