The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are gearing up to showcase their 'Shahoshi Rani' initiative, dedicated to recognizing extraordinary women, during the ongoing IPL season. This special campaign celebrates women who have demonstrated remarkable bravery, resilience, and determination in overcoming challenges.
These inspiring women will be central to the team’s message of celebrating strength, encouraging positive change, and promoting inclusivity in sports, particularly as they prepare to face the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Eden Gardens on May 7th.
As part of this tribute, 40 'Shahoshi Ranis' will attend the KKR practice session, where they will have the chance to observe the players' training, interact with the team and coaching staff, and spend time with franchise co-owner Juhi Chawla, who will be present to connect with these remarkable individuals.
To further highlight this initiative beyond the match itself, KKR's practice jerseys before their game against CSK will feature the 'Shahoshi Rani' logo prominently on the back. In a personal gesture of acknowledgment, each player and support staff member will also wear the names of individual 'Shahoshi Ranis' beneath the logo, symbolizing a connection between the team and the women they are celebrating.
Furthermore, KKR will be filming significant moments from the practice session, capturing the inspiring interactions between the 'Shahoshi Ranis' and the players. These stories will be shared across various digital platforms to shine a light on the strength and spirit these women embody, not only for the team but also for a global audience.
Speaking about the initiative, Juhi Chawla, Co-Owner of the Kolkata franchise, stated, "Shahoshi Rani is more than just a campaign; it's a celebration of true courage. These women are an inspiration, and we are privileged to share our platform with them. We hope their stories resonate with others as deeply as they have with us." The 'Shahoshi Rani' initiative is one of several community-focused endeavors championed by KKR, underscoring their commitment to using sports as a vehicle for positive change, amplifying important voices, and inspiring people beyond the realm of cricket.
