Imagine walking into a lush green farmhouse in Delhi, where chants echo in the background via speakers, greenery surrounds the space, a small idol of Nandi Maharaj overlooks a temple structure, old-school energy with swings and grass, and a pathway that leads to a quiet room where magic brews in the mind.
This is what Sadhguru Sannidhi in Chhatarpur, Delhi, is all about.
It is a space with peace, calm, positivity, love, and a feeling so profound that it is impossible to put it into words.
There was a small idol of Nandi Maharaj overlooking the temple structure. Swings swayed in the soft breeze, and the old-school energy of the place reminded me of childhood—barefoot in the grass, no phone in sight, just peace. As I walked further, a narrow stone pathway led me to a quiet room. Something told me this is where the real magic would happen.
I had come to attend the ‘Miracle of Mind’ meditation session hosted on Sunday, April 27. And from the very first moment, I knew it was going to be special.
The day began with a group of volunteers singing soulful chants and songs. I didn’t know all the words, but that didn’t matter. There was something about the way they sang, and it was with joy, with love, with surrender, and a feeling that pulled everyone in, even me, a person who never felt connected to music. I found myself swaying along, smiling without reason, eyes closing on their own.
Then, RJ Raunac took the stage and introduced us to Sadhguru’s vision, his teachings, and most importantly, a beautiful story that set the tone for the session.
It was about a tired man who sat under a tree for some rest, but what happened next changed how I felt about the power of my mind.
A man, tired from travel, sits under a tree. It happens to be a Kalpavriksha—a wish-fulfilling tree. As he rests, he casually thinks, “If only I had some water.” A glass of water appears. Delighted, he wishes for food. Food appears. But then, his thoughts wander to fear—“What if this tree houses ghosts?” And immediately, ghosts surround him. He panics and thinks, “They might kill me.” And just like that, they do.
Sadhguru’s message was crystal clear: our mind is a Kalpavriksha. Whatever we think, especially unconsciously, we bring into our lives. Most of us use this gift to dwell on worries, fears, and negativity—only to find them becoming our reality.
The 7-minute miracle
Then came the actual meditation session. And honestly, I didn’t expect something so short to be that powerful.
We were guided to sit comfortably, close our eyes, and just observe our breath. No complicated rituals, no Sanskrit chants. Just attention and stillness.
Sadhguru’s voice echoed in the room:
“I am not the body. I am not even the mind.”
That was it. Those two lines, repeated gently. Over and over again.
And something started to shift. For the first minute or two, thoughts kept coming—what I’ll eat after, how long this is going to last, if I’m doing it right. But slowly, those thoughts lost their grip. I wasn’t trying to force them away, they just faded. There was just breath. Presence. A strange stillness.
When the bell rang at the end of seven minutes, I opened my eyes and felt like only seconds had passed. But something inside me had realigned. I wasn’t overwhelmed with emotion or 'blissed out' as some people say, but I was just there.... whole, as a person who thought that she might be a little bit better. And that in itself felt like a miracle.
A lesson people will remember
Walking out of the Sannidhi that day, I didn’t feel like I had just meditated. I felt like I had learned something.
That the mind, when used consciously, becomes a friend. That silence isn’t empty, but rather full of answers, and that miracles don’t happen outside of us, they begin inside. And I learned that my mind is my friend, my thoughts are my cheerleaders, and if only I start to be a more positive person, positive things will come to me, one day or the other.
And so I decided that if I spend a few minutes every day reminding myself that I am not the body, and I am not even the mind, I would stop chasing the word 'Peace' and I will start living in it in just a little more time.
