Former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie Kelce have come a long way from a couple who started their romantic journey with a slightly disastrous first date, to proud parents who are about to welcome their fourth child together. They are already parents to daughters Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 1, and are expecting their fourth daughter anytime now. One of the NFL's most beloved couples continues to go strong even though their parenting styles are slightly different.
Jason Kelce shared on the New Heights podcast that he encourages his daughters to try new activities, just as his father, Ed Kelce, did with him and his brother, Travis. However, he admitted that his approach doesn’t always work, as his kids often resist and see it as him being a "bad dad." Despite this, Jason believes pushing them out of their comfort zone is an important part of parenting, even though wife Kylie doesn't always agree. The family recently took a Disneyland trip and painted a perfect family picture.
As their baby No. 4 is on her way, here's a look at their heartwarming love story:
A swipe that changed everything
Kylie was a student at Cabrini University while Jason was already making a name for himself as the Philadelphia Eagles’ standout center, when their paths crossed on Tinder. "We matched [and] I sent him a pick-up line,” Kylie shared on the Sunday Sports Club podcast. “I said, ‘I need LifeAlert. I’ve fallen for you and I can’t get up.’”
Jason wasn't impressed much though and challenged her to “try harder.” Kylie, not willing to back down, shot back with another line: “If I told you I work for UPS, would you let me handle your package?” That one got his attention.
Soon, the two arranged to meet in person. Kylie and her friends had done some online digging, discovering Jason’s NFL career. While there was some initial skepticism whether or not it was really him, they took the plunge and met him at a local bar in Philadelphia.
After a rocky first date, sparks flew
Jason surely didn't leave a great first impression, as on the couple's first date, he had come 'too inebriated' having already attended the Eagles' holiday party. Within 45 minutes he was fast asleep, leaving Kylie with his teammate Beau Allen, who had to carry him home.
Jason, however, soon reached out to Kylie and asked for a second chance. Their second meeting was quite the opposite as the couple connected and spoke for hours, discovering their natural chemistry.
For their second date, Jason revealed on Kylie's podcast 'Not Gonna Lie' that they went ice skating at Penn’s Landing, a picturesque rink in Philadelphia. As Jason bent down to tie his skates, an unexpected and loud fart escaped, leaving him no way to play it off. Kylie, who grew up in a household where fart jokes were common, found the moment hysterical but struggled to contain her laughter, fearing it would seem immature. The situation only got funnier when Jason stood up and nonchalantly said, “Whoops!” - a moment the couple still recalls as a hilarious milestone in their early romance.
Marriage and kids
As time went by, their connection deepened as the NFL player made time for her despite his busy schedule, even staying overnight in her dorm room while she worked as a Resident Assistant.
In 2018, the couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony. They welcomed their first daughter, Wyatt, in 2019. Two years later, their second daughter, Elliotte, arrived. Soon, Bennett came into their life in 2023. In late 2024, they announced they were expecting their fourth child.
Jason, who recently retired after 14 seasons with the Eagles, credits his wife for helping him grow into the man he is today.
“She has brought the best out of me through love, devotion, support, honesty, intelligence, and of course, a swift kick in the ass from time to time,” Jason said during his emotional retirement speech. “She has also given me three beautiful girls and a life that increasingly brings me more fulfillment off the field than it does on.”
