Plants best grown with cuttings

Seeing plants, veggies, fruits, and flowers in the home garden is such a delight. And the happiness elevates when we have grown them from the start with seeds. But there are certain fruits, plants, and veggies that are best grown with cuttings, and here we mention some.

Lemon

Lemon trees can grow from seeds, but that method is rather slow, and one can never be sure if the tree will actually produce lemons. So, if you want a sure-shot solution, buy a grafted plant from the nursery.

Mint

Mint is another plant that is best grown through cuttings instead of seeds. It is easier for the Mint plant to grow and produce roots with a cutting, and then be propagated ahead.

Snake plant

Snake plant too is best grown with a cutting, and growing them through seeds isn’t a very conventional method. Just make a ‘V’ shaped cutting on the leaf of the plant, keep it in water to encourage root growth, and then add it to a new pot.

Avocado

Another plant that is best grown through a grafting or a mature cutting is Avocado. And although Avocado can grow from a seed, it will take years to grow and will still not guarantee fruit in the tree.

Banana

Banana plants also need to be grown with cuttings because they don’t grow from seeds. Commercial gardeners grow them using suckers or pups, which are small shoots that grow near the base of a mature banana plant.
