The teenage years often bring skin woes, as they are a time of change and transformation. These years call for minimal and effective care. It’s essential not to overcomplicate your skincare routine, as teenage skin is particularly sensitive and doesn’t respond well to experimentation.
Use a gentle cleanser to remove the oil, sweat, and dirt from your face, and follow this in the morning and before bed. Double cleansing in the morning is not required as it would strip away the natural oil from your face.
Apply a lightweight moisturiser that will keep the skin hydrated. Also, if you have oily skin then opt for a small amount but completed moisturisation is very important.
To protect yourself from the harsh UV rays, finish it off with a well-balanced SPF that is lightweight and suitable for your skin.
If you have a pimple, acne, or zit then after moisturisation you can at times apply a serum or use acne creams to shield yourself from the acne, blemishes, and marks.
Toner is an optional choice and should be used after cleansing only for teenagers who have oily skin or acne-prone skin as it balances and tightens the pores.
Avoid putting a face or setting powder on your face to get rid of excess oil as it further clogs the pores and raises issues of acne. Instead, use blotting or tissue paper.
Do not use face scrubs or strips as they would strip away the natural oil and due to sensitive skin age, it might result in redness, irritation, dryness, and itching as well.
Teenage years are the time when you reach puberty age which can result in acne occurrence due to hormonal changes. However, have patience and let nature do its course, but do not pop the pimple as it will invite more friends and will mark its spot.
