'If arrogance and lack of grace had a face': BJP questions Rahul Gandhi's absence after poll results

BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya criticises Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for showing arrogance and ingratitude after the party's electoral defeat in Haryana. Malviya accuses Gandhi of not thanking voters and party workers, nor congratulating National Conference leaders on their performance in Kashmir.
'If arrogance and lack of grace had a face': BJP questions Rahul Gandhi's absence after poll results
NEW DELHI: BJP's IT cell chief Amit Malviya on Wednesday questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his silence following the election results in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.
Malviya accused Rahul Gandhi of displaying "arrogance" and "lack of grace" in the aftermath of the Congress party's defeat in Haryana. He also pointed out that the Congress leader had failed to congratulate the National Conference leadership for their performance in Kashmir.
"If arrogance and lack of grace had a face, it would be Rahul Gandhi’s. Several hours after the defeat in Haryana, Rahul Gandhi, supreme leader of the Congress party, has not found the time to thank either the voters or workers. He has not had the courtesy to congratulate NC leadership for their performance in Kashmir," Amit Malviya said in a post on X.
"But then what else can you expect from a man who hasn’t even congratulated the longest serving non Congress PM, who won an unprecedented third term. This sense of entitlement of the Gandhis is nauseating," he added.

Malviya earlier critiqued Rahul's earlier remarks on reservations, suggesting they had backfired. "Rahul Gandhi’s ‘we will remove reservations’, has boomeranged in Haryana. Dalits have rejected the Congress' lies. The BJP is leading in 9/17 SC seats. In 2019, BJP had won only five of the 17 seats. Dalits in Jharkhand and Maharashtra will decimate the Congress."
Malviya’s remarks against the leader of opposition come as the BJP achieved its best-ever result in Haryana, securing 48 seats, one more than in 2014. The Congress trailed with 37 seats, while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won two seats, and three Independents emerged victorious.
The BJP had contested 89 of the 90 seats in Haryana, excluding the Sirsa seat, where its ally Gopal Kanda had been the sitting MLA. Kanda, however, lost his seat in this election.
Haryana chief minister Saini expressed gratitude to voters for the BJP’s victory, stating that the public had endorsed the government’s policies under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
