The residence of legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan, Annai Illam, is at the center of a legal dispute after a court recently issued an order for its seizure. This ruling has led actor Prabhu to file a petition seeking to halt the court-ordered confiscation of the property. The controversy stems from an unpaid loan linked to a film production, which triggered legal proceedings, ultimately resulting in the court's decision to seize the house.
Unpaid loan for film leads to legal action.
The issue began when Dushyan, the grandson of Sivaji Ganesan’s elder son Ramkumar, borrowed ₹3.75 crore while producing the film Jagajala Killadi. However, due to his failure to repay the loan, the matter escalated into a legal case. As part of the recovery process, the court ordered the seizure of Annai Illam, considering it an asset linked to the financial dispute. This move raised concerns within the family, as the property holds significant sentimental and historical value.

Following this development, Ramkumar stepped forward to clarify that Annai Illam is not his property but belongs to his younger brother, Prabhu. He asserted that the court's order was based on incorrect assumptions and filed a petition to prevent the confiscation. Ramkumar argued that since he was not the owner of the house, it was unfair for the court to seize it due to a loan that he was not responsible for.

As per Indiaglitz Tamil, Prabhu has also approached the court, emphasizing that Annai Illam was legally transferred to him through a will by their father, Sivaji Ganesan, with the full consent of their siblings. Expressing shock over the court's decision, Prabhu maintained that he had no connection to the financial obligations in question. His petition calls for the immediate reversal of the seizure order, and the case is expected to be reviewed soon.
