Though a Malayali, Tamil film industry has been director Gautham Menon's forte so far. The filmmaker, who has quite a few popular Kollywood movies to his credit, will soon be seen as an actor in an upcoming Malayalam movie. Directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, the film titled Jacobinte Swargarajyam, has Nivin Pauly, Renji Panicker, Sai Kumar, TG Ravi, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan and Sreenath Bhasi in important roles.
Ask the director on what made him say yes to Vineeth, and he tells us, 'I like Vineeth a lot and I am a fan of his movies. I admire his father's works too and that is why I decided to act in his film. It's a guest appearance, and that's all I can speak about the project.' Interestingly, in the most recent Vineeth-scripted film Oru Vadakkan Selfie, in which Nivin plays the lead, his character Umesh is shown running away to Chennai to meet Gautham Menon.
The director has done cameos in numerous Tamil movies in the past, such as Minsara Kanavu, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu and most recently, Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, in which he played himself.
