After ‘Bailaras’ and ‘Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan’
Binnu Dhillon is ready to start his next production venture ‘Kala Shah Kala’. Recently in an exclusive interview with TimesOfIndia.com, Binnu Dhillon spoke about his third maiden production. Here are the excerpts from the interview:
Amarjit Singh has penned the script and he will only don the director's hat for the same.
The movie will go on the floors in September and the producer turned actor Binnu said that he is planning to make it a February-March release. A month ago the first poster of the movie was shared, which was as quirky as the title ‘Kala Shah Kala’. Talking about the same Binnu said, “The title of the movie is inspired by the name of my character Kala in the film. I am playing a guy with a dark complexion and we are trying to bring on the screen that how due looks it becomes difficult for someone to get the love of his life. At the same time, there’s situational comedy that I am sure the audience will enjoy.”
Binnu Dhillon’s first production didn’t do well at the box office; thus the actor turned producer became very skeptical about scripts. However, the script of 'Kala Shah Kala' had the actor-producer right from the start, and he told us “The moment I heard the script I loved it and I decided to make the movie. This is the first time I didn’t actually ask other members of the production house about their take, and simply made the final call. This script is so beautiful that I didn’t want to wait.”
Binnu also added that the movie isn’t set in the current day scenario, rather shows the bygone era in the backdrop. According to him, this is yet another factor that adds to the beauty of the movie.
Casting‘Kala Shah Kala’ will have a never before seen trio of Binnu Dhillon,
Sargun Mehta and
Jordan Sandhu on the screen. Spilling beans behind this fresh cast, the ‘Carry On Jatta’ fame said, “Casting Sargun and Jordan was also my call. Sargun has established herself really well in the industry. I have seen her work and it’s amazing the way she takes over the screen. Coming to Jordan, I simply love his look. He has got just the right kind of appearance required in the movie. His character will be bringing a very nice contrast on the screen.”
