Mohanlal addressed rumours about his role in Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara: Chapter 1': "I am not a bad actor..."

Mohanlal is basking in the glory of his latest film, 'L2: Empuraan', which has received an overwhelming response from audiences. The Malayalam action thriller, which hit theatres yesterday (March 27), had a remarkable impact at the box office, drawing both critical acclaim and commercial success.
Meanwhile, speculation has been rife about the veteran actor’s possible involvement in Kantara: Chapter 1, the much-anticipated prequel to Kantara. Mohanlal has now responded to the rumours.

In a recent interview with OTTPlay, Mohanlal stated, “Please ask them to put me in Kantara 2. Give me a role. I am not a bad actor, I think. ”
For those unfamiliar, 'Kantara: Chapter 1' serves as a prequel to the 2022 hit film 'Kantara'. The movie, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, became one of the finest works from the Kannada film industry, earning Rishab the National Award for Best Actor for his performance. The production of Kantara: Chapter 1 has been ongoing for quite some time.

On the other hand, Rishab Shetty is juggling multiple projects. His upcoming films include Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, directed by Sandeep Singh, and Jai Hanuman, helmed by Prasanth Varma.
The filming of Kantara: Chapter 1 recently became a topic of concern due to reports of environmental damage at the shooting location. Allegedly, large-scale explosives were used within a forest’s core area, leading to pollution and potential harm to wildlife.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal has a packed schedule ahead. After Empuraan, he will move on to L3: The Beginning. He is also set to collaborate with Mammootty and Nayanthara on an upcoming film. Additionally, he is rumoured to soon commence work on a new project with director Priyadarshan.
