The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has stirred controversy by directing the makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, 'Oru Bharatha Sarkar Ulpannam,' to remove the term 'Bharatha' from its title for release approval.
In response, director
Lal Jose reacted during an interaction with the media, questioning the decision's rationale for a film that he describes as a family entertainer that doesn't have any political undertones.

Lal Jose conveyed his uncertainty about the CBFC's directive, particularly for a small movie like 'Oru Sarkar Ulpannam.' Emphasizing the film's lighthearted and fun-filled nature, he asserted that there were no political ideologies embedded in the storyline.
The director highlighted that the original title was apt for the movie, questioning the need for intervention. He disclosed that the CBFC granted a 'U' certificate to the film with the condition that the term 'Bharatha' be removed from the title for release clearance.
Lal Jose further said, " I came to know that there is an upcoming film that is coming by the name ‘Bharatham’ and also there is the superhit film‘Chak De India’ in Bollywood Also there are several other upcoming movies that has the title ‘Bharat’, let’s wait and see what will happen to them."
'Oru Sarkar Ulpannam,' directed by debutant T.V. Renjith and featuring Subish Sudhi, Gouri G. Kishan, and Aju Varghese, initially slated for a March 1 release, faced a postponement to March 8.
