Twinkle Khanna also became an actor, just like her parents -
Rajesh Khanna and
Dimple Kapadia. She made her debut with 'Barsaat' in 1995 opposite Bobby Deol. While Khanna had motivated his daughter to be an actress, he had once admitted how Twinkle had reacted to it. Khanna who is still remembered as the 'first superstar of Hindi cinema' had once revealed in a throwback interview that he asked Twinkle that if she wants to become an actor, he would produce a movie for her. But Twinkle is known to be very honest with no filter and that's what she was even that point.
Instead of happily asking her father to produce a film for her, she questioned him in return as to why he didn't allow her mother Dimple Kapadia to pursue her career after she got married to him. Khanna had spoken about it during an interview with
Amitabh Bachchan, “I had no problems about my wife working. But when I married Dimple, I wanted a mother for my children. I didn’t want them to be brought up by servants. And I had no idea of Dimple’s talent; Bobby was still not released. Recently, when I told one of my daughters, Twinkle, that if she would like to act in a film, I would produce one for her. She said, ‘You will let me act but to mummy you say no.’ I said, ‘For the simple reason that I am your father and not your husband.’”
