'Taal', starring
Aishwarya Rai, Akshaye Khanna, and
Anil Kapoor, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary at a special event in Mumbai. During the celebration, Anil shared that he felt nervous before filming the climax scene, where his character, Vikrant, tells Mansi, played by Aishwarya, to be with Akshaye’s character, Manav, just before their wedding.
At the event organized by Radio Nasha, Anil shared that director
Subhash Ghai often gave him last-minute lines, making the scenes more challenging.
He felt so anxious that he thought about not going to the set. To calm his nerves, he even asked actress
Padmini Kolhapure for Reiki.
He shared, “I said I am not going to come on the set,” Anil recalled telling Subhas Ghai, who, in turn, said he doesn’t have to come but the filmmaker will wait up for him. “He knows me so well. He said, 'Okay, don’t come; I’ll wait anyway.' So in the morning, I woke up and I told my wife, ‘I am not going. It’s a very long scene, and he will give it at the last moment, and I want to do my best’. Then it was 7 am... 8 am... I called Padmini Kolhapure to perform reiki on me. I was so stressed, so anxious, and nervous. She came; she did reiki on me.".
'Taal', starring Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Akshaye Khanna, will be re-released on September 27 to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai said, “With the re-release, I’m thrilled that audiences can experience the magic of ‘Taal’ all over again on the big screen.” Earlier this year, Anil celebrated the film's 25th anniversary and said that he shot the song 'Ramta Jogi' without any rehearsals.
