A Nostalgic Trip Down Memory Lane
The nostalgic trip was courtesy of Amar Talwar, Shah Rukh Khan’s old friend from their Barry John’s Theatre Action Group (TAG) days. Talwar delighted fans by sharing a treasure trove of never-seen-before photos of the Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge star—long before he became the King of Bollywood. Taking to Instagram on the eve of May 1, 2025, Amar gave SRK fans something truly special with this rare glimpse into the superstar’s early days.

Monochrome Magic: Young SRK Through Amar’s Lens
Amar Talwar treated fans to three striking monochrome photographs of Shah Rukh Khan, each capturing a different mood of the future superstar. One image is a close-up showcasing a young SRK flashing his signature smile—his expressive eyes full of warmth, with slightly tousled hair adding to the charm. The second photo is a candid moment, effortlessly natural, while the third features Shah Rukh posing with Amar’s son, Tally. Talwar revealed that these snapshots date back to the early 1990s, a time before SRK had stepped into Bollywood and taken the industry by storm.

Capturing Moments
In the second photo, a young SRK is seen in action, capturing a moment himself with a vintage Pentax Spotmatic camera—proof that the man in front of the lens once enjoyed being behind it too. The third image is pure nostalgia: SRK cradles a little boy, Amar Talwar’s son Tally, flashing a cheeky grin that hints at the superstar charisma to come. Dressed in a loose button-down shirt, light-washed denim, and classic sneakers, Shah Rukh exudes effortless 90s charm—mesmerising even before the fame found him.
Amar Talwar’s Special Message for Fans
He wrote, 'Going through my old pics, I came across these I'd clicked of Shahrukh Khan with my son, Tally, around 1990, before his departure for Bollywood. Shahrukh and I had acted in a couple of TAG (Barry John's Theatre Action Group) plays together - 'Rough Crossing' and 'Who's Life Is It Anyway' and then in a third play, 'Lend Me A Tenor', Barry cast me in the role he wanted Shahrukh to play, but by then Shahrukh had left for Mumbai, Bollywood...and the rest is history - I guess!'

Fan Reactions Pour In
As soon as the photos started doing the rounds on social media, likes and comments poured in from all sides. Awesome! Sharing!', another one added, 'Whatta picture...both my favourites in one frame!' A fan also commented, 'Those beautiful days'..
SRK’s Rise to Stardom
Shah Rukh began his acting journey with the television series Fauji in 1988, followed by shows like Circus and Idiot, which showcased his early talent and screen presence. However, it was in 1992 that he made his big-screen debut with Deewana, quickly followed by films like Chamatkar and King Uncle. His breakthrough came in 1993 with back-to-back hits in the psychological thrillers Baazigar and Darr, establishing him as a force to be reckoned with. Since then, SRK has charmed audiences with his versatility, gentlemanly persona, and unforgettable performances.
Up next, he’s set to headline Siddharth Anand’s much-anticipated King, where he’ll share the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan and actor Abhishek Bachchan.
