Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is gearing up for his much-anticipated return to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna. The film, which promises a heartwarming blend of humor, drama, and emotion, recently cleared a key milestone as its teaser received a U certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Teaser Certification and Release Speculations
The teaser, with a runtime of 1 minute and 19 seconds, was approved on March 24, paving the way for its official release. Given the timing of its certification, speculation was rife that it might be attached to Salman Khan’s upcoming Eid release, Sikandar. However, fresh reports from Pinkvilla confirm that this will not be the case, and the teaser’s standalone release date remains unconfirmed.
New Release Date in Consideration
Initially, Sitaare Zameen Par was expected to hit theaters in June 2025. Aamir himself had hinted at this during a media interaction ahead of his birthday. However, recent developments indicate that the makers are now considering May 30, 2025, as the film’s release date. An official announcement is expected soon, with Aamir closely overseeing the final edit and promotional strategies.
Aamir Khan’s Role and Film’s Premise
In 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' Aamir Khan portrays an alcoholic coach who mentors a team of specially-abled children, guiding them towards their dream of competing in the Paralympics. The film also features Darsheel Safary, who previously played the young protagonist in 'Taare Zameen Par,' and Genelia Deshmukh in key roles.
On the other hand, Aamir Khan was last seen in the drama movie ‘Laal Singh Chaddha,’ which turned out to be a flop amid huge expectations. Kareena Kapoor played the female lead in the film.
