Alia Bhatt is one of the most exciting and proven superstars of Hindi Cinema currently, she has proved her talent with films like Raazi, Gangubai Kathiawadi , Dear Zindagi, Udta Punjab and many more. However, her latest outing Jigra hasn’t found a connection with the audience, but has just managed to stay afloat, despite having a pretty much free run at the box office for the next two weeks.
Alia Bhatt’s latest venture Jigra sees her as Satya, who is all set to free her brother Ankur played by Vedang Raina who was falsely convicted for drug trafficking. The film clashed with Rajkummar Rao’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video; it opened to just Rs 4.55 crore, and witnessed a significant jump on Saturday, to collect Rs 6.55 crore, only to drop on Sunday as it collected Rs 5.65 crore, thus taking the overall first weekend collection to Rs 16.75 crore.

However, despite a spike on Saturday and modest collection on Sunday, Jigra managed to hit rock bottom, and became the lowest first weekend collection for any Alia Bhatt film. In her 12 year long career, Alia has given multiple hits, but her lowest first weekend box office collection has been Imtiaz Ali’s Highway where it collected Rs 13.99 crore. Given the budget of the film, it actually had received a very good opening, and went on to end its collection at Rs 30 crore. Some of the biggest disasters of her career like Shaandaar and Kalank also had much bigger weekend openings, with Rs 27.4 crore and Rs 44.65 crore respectively.

Alia’s biggest first weekend openings have been Brahmastra: Part one-Shiva, with Rs 124.49 crore, followed by Gully Boy with Rs 51.15 crore, next would be Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani with Rs 45.9 crore.
Alia will be next seen in Aditya Chopra and Shiv Rawail’s Alpha, slated to release during Christmas of 2025; she also has signed Love And War with Sanjay Leela Bhansali which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
